We hope and expect that after this meeting, the world of Complex Systems will no longer be the same. New collaborations will emerge. New domains will be opened to Complex Systems approaches. New research and ideas will be generated by the contact between the different communities and their cultures.

Some will tackle the major intractable problems of the coming century, bringing much needed new thinking and along with it, new possibilities. New generations of young scientists will take up this task, and help to lead the way armed with knowledge from resources in a widely diverse range of disciplines all focusing on common goals. We expect this conference to help set that trend in motion.
